Easy Basil Pesto
This recipe was discovered in The 28-Day Cleansing Program by Scott Ohlgren and Joann Tomasulo. Try adding the sea vegetable, Dulse, for extra minerals and flavor. (Always sneaking those sea veggies in to support and feed the thyroid.) The Hemp seeds will give it a creamy texture while increasing the protein. Also try adding sun-dried tomatoes! Yum!! We served this with Basic Buckwheat, sliced Cucumbers and steamed Green Beans.

4 Cups loosely packed Basil
¼ cup Parsley
1 Tablespoon Miso (excellent enzyme source)
¼ Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic
Pepper & Celtic or Pink Salt
½ cup seeds and/or nuts (sunflower, walnuts, pine, almonds, hemp seeds)
2 Tablespoons Dulse (Optional)

In a food processor blend basil, parsley, seeds/nuts, garlic, salt, and miso pulsing until finely chopped. Keep motor running and slowly add olive oil.
